Dalek decides that the preservation of beauty is a Dalek order, questioning the Emperor’s authority. Before long, other Daleks are following his orders and parading around in flowers. Seems unlikely, I know.

Part One

When the Emperor commands the building of a new road to the Lake of Mutations, one of the Daleks questions his orders. The Emperor has the squad of Daleks taken for testing. He realises that the questioning of an order could lead to the destruction of the Dalek race.

Part Two

The tests fail to identify the rogue Dalek and the Emperor sends the squad back to work. The Red Dalek shows the Emperor a Dalek rest chamber filled with flowers. The Emperor realises that there has been an accident in manufacture. Meanwhile, in the mutated forest, a Dalek is attacked by one of his own kind.

Part Three

Investigating the scene of the attack, the Emperor realises that the Dalek was attacked to preserve a small flower. Returning to the city, he finds Daleks wearing flowers. The Daleks believe there is a new command: Protect beauty… flowers are beautiful. It is an edict they are prepared to kill for.

Part Four

As the rogue Dalek proclaims himself the new emperor, the existing Emperor confronts him. When the Emperor points out that the Dalek’s flowers are dying, the other Daleks see the error of their ways and exterminate the rogue element.

  • This is probably one of the strangest Dalek strips ever printed, which, considering some of the later output from TV Comic, is really saying something.
