The Monstrons land and built a base inside an extinct volcano. However, the Daleks detect movement in the sector and send out a patrol…
Illustration from the original Dalek Chronicles
The Dalek patrol is captured by the Monstrons and frozen inside a block of ice. A second patrol is destroyed by a force field.
The Monstrons attack the Dalek city with anti-visibility thrusters, driving the Daleks beneath ground. They order the Engibrains to enter and destroy the city.
The Engibrains enter and devastate the city. The Emperor is apparently destroyed when the ceiling collapses on top of him. Finally, the Monstrons seal the city in liquid metal.
With the city sealed, the Monstrons return to their base. However, Daleks still survive beneath the ground, and they discover that the Emperor has fallen through into an old watercourse. However, before they can rescue him, he is attacked by a giant electric eel.
The Daleks rescue the Emperor, then use the eel to repower themselves. Meanwhile, aboard the Monstron ship, the Dalek captive raises the temperature of its casing to melt the ice…
The Dalek aboard the Monstron ship breaks free, but is send plunging down into the volcano by the Monstrons. As the Emperor and his Daleks emerge from the ruined city by the Lake of Mutations, the Dalek inside the volcano uses its gun to trigger a volcanic eruption, destroying the Monstrons and their Engibrains.
