Gosh. Here we are again. So soon! We have a license, we have a script, we have a cast, we have a crew, we have helpers.

Having decided to attempt to adapt such a long ‘saga’ from twelve parts down to the equivalent of four (or from 290 minutes to 90), I sat down and cried. No, not really.

Composing a Masterplan

When asked to provide the music for The Dalek Masterplan on stage, minutes after the final performance of Evil of the Daleks, I gave no hesitation in my answer, “Hell yeah”.

Half the fun of being a Director of a show is being able to make final decisions. The most enjoyable decision I’ve had to make for both Evil and now for Masterplan is to do with, what else, but the Daleks. How should they look?

Whenever you take on a show, the tickets never sell themselves. Even though we are sure of a healthy advance box office return for The Dalek Masterplan, we always do whatever we can to let the great British public know what we are doing, and when you have Daleks at your disposal, you can always be sure of pulling a crowd...
