Newly-regenerated and travelling through the universe in his TARDIS, the eighth Doctor is suddenly hit by a mind-shattering blast of malignant psychic energy – a final booby trap left by the Master.

Written by good old Terrance Dicks, we include this here only because it solves the mystery of why the Master had been exterminated by the Daleks in the Doctor Who movie.

And no, we’re not going to spoil that one for you, except to say that would you really expect the Master to be knowingly captured by the Daleks?

This is a book for the fanboy and fangirl – pulling together loose ends from the Doctor’s seven previous incarnations and the eighth Doctor travels through time and space, meeting each of his previous selves, in an attempt to literally collect his memories from his past lives. The whole thing actually works quite well, written as it is by a master Doctor Who writer.
