A free photo novel of the original BBC TV story – ‘The Power of the Daleks’.

A newly regenerated Doctor, along with his companions Ben and Polly, land on the planet Vulcan – where an old foe awaits.

This was the first story of Patrick Troughton’s Doctor – and sadly, none of the six episodes of this story now exist. All that remains is the soundtrack, a few video snippets and some screen captures. The BBC has taken the screen captures and turned them into an on-line photo novel.

Investigating the murder of the Earth Examiner on the planet Vulcan, the Doctor stumbles across a group of inert Daleks, which have been discovered in a crashed spaceship by the scientist Lesterson. Against the Doctor’s advice, the Daleks are revived and claim to be the servants of the colonists on Vulcan.

The murdered Earth examiner had been called to investigate the activities of a group of rebels; when these rebels grown in strength, the Daleks take advantage of the trust placed in them by the colonists and establish a Dalek reproduction plant – soon new Daleks are rolling off the production line.

This story is an excellent introduction for the second Doctor and the photo novel is a great way to experience one of the great lost episodes of Doctor Who.
