This outstanding Web site provides what is probably the best on-line history of the Dalek props in both the TV series and the movies.

Many have tried to provide a history of the Dalek props but none have succeeded like this site. Dalek 6388 (a reference to the years 63-88, when the Daleks originally appeared on screen) provides a clear and detailed history into the design, building and subsequent changes to the Dalek props.

The information is staggeringly detailed, showing (for example) the different angles of bevel on the Daleks’ neck rings, the changing locations of the hemispheres on the Daleks’ skirts, names of the Dalek operators in each story, when and how Dalek props were repaired (as best as can be ascertained) and so on.

For Dalek fans this is a fascinating insight into the evolution of the Dalek prop over the years. It’s well-documented and generously illustrated with photographs and drawings. Every single one of the classic series stories is covered in depth – and there’s also an excellent section on the new series Daleks. Highly recommended.
