‘Abslom Daak – Dalek Killer’ is the eleventh release from Altered Vistas, a fully lip-synched and animated CGI feature based on the popular and exciting Doctor Who Weekly comic strip of the same name which originally appeared way back in 1980. It stars Richard Dadd as Daak and Anola Chase as his doomed love interest Taiyin.
Accompanying it on the disc is a comprehensive bonus documentary (with a fantastic narration from the ever-versatile Jonathan Redwood that is bound to make you smile) all about the Daak phenomenon that includes his every single appearance in comic strips, novels, short stories and records, plus a video of Daak clips to accompany the flexi-disc release of The Slaves of Kane’s ‘Abslom Daak – Dalek Killer Theme’.
To celebrate the release, the Altered Vistas website has had a considerable update, including new wallpapers, new film clips in the Theatre, new reviews, a new monthly comic strip written and illustrated by Iain McClumpha reminiscent of the original TV21 Dalek strip, and a new on-line game in the style of the old Choose Your Destiny/Make Your Own Adventure books entitled ‘Escape from Skaro’!
Altered Vistas has also now established two new Australian dubsites, thanks to Clifford Hoeft and Kerry Hewitt, and a second UK dubsite thanks to Steve Swales.
