Big Finish releases Barnaby Edwards’ Phantom of the Opera

Barnaby Edwards, best known to Dalek fans as the lead Dalek operator in the new series of Doctor Who, has written and directed a new audio production of Phantom of the Opera.

The production is a ‘full-cast’ audio dramatisation, featuring Anna Massey (The Pallisers, Rebecca, The Mayor of Casterbridge, Darling Buds of May, Midsomer Murders, The Importance of Being Ernest – and many more), Alexander Siddig (Julian Bashir in Deep Space Nine), James D’Arcy (Mansfield Park) and Peter Guinness (Alien 3 and Sleepy Hollow).

The play is available to download – and will be released as a deluxe two-CD set in March 2008. BBC7 is to transmit episode one on Sunday 23 December 2007 at 6pm – and the subsequent episodes will be transmitted on the following Sundays for three weeks afterwards.

The play features freshly recorded opera sequences by members of the ENO and Opera Diva, and a brand new score from composer Tim Sutton.
