The Portfolio contains six A4 prints, each a limited edition printed on heavy 380gsm paper using Ultra Chrome light-fast archive-quality inks – these are not quick/cheap copies or inkjet prints. These come in a 4-page folder. Also included is a 4page insert which includes reproductions of Andrew’s drawings and unpublished/rare material including a ‘making of’ feature on his Evil of the Daleks illustration (the insert is on 220gsm paper). The included Evil of the Daleks print is a recently commissioned piece that will not be reproduced elsewhere.

The Dalek Portfolio comes in a range of editions. The standard edition is £70. There is also a Remarque Edition for £115, which includes an original pencil drawing. Finally there is another Remarque Edition, which include an original colour drawing – this costs £130. You can have this included in a special customised slipcase (which can include your initial and the edition number of your portfolio) for £25. These prices exclude postage and packing.

The Dalek Portfolio looks awesome – these are some of the best Dalek illustrations around, created by an artist who is something of a legend in Doctor Who terms. A great collectors’ piece and a sound investment.

Blacklight : The Doctor Who Art of Andrew Skilleter, a large format, colour hardback written by the artist and published by Virgin, 1995, showcased the breadth of his Who images.

He created a small publishing company Who Dares and for a number of years in the 1980s set new standards for printed Doctor Who merchandise also publishing a number of book titles for the UK and USA including the Cybermen book with David Banks, now recognised as a classic, The Radio Times Doctor Who Art of Frank Bellamy and a highly illustrated biography of Frank Hampson the creator of Dan Dare.

The artwork for Doctor Who required a sophisticated approach and portraiture abilities and an eye for accuracy. Andrew became known for developing the myth visually beyond the restraints of the TV images, innovating visual metaphors and inventing original futuristic and alien locations and hardware.

Andrew’s connection with Doctor Who continues as a new generation of adults who avidly consumed his published output as children  or teenagers, continue to appreciate his work and in many cases, collect his original art, which is still sort after here and in the USA.  Late in 2005, a DVD devoted to Andrew and his work was released by Reeltime Pictures. He works traditionally and digitally and continues to paint private commissions, many of them Doctor Who related, sells his original art and publishes limited editions.
