We reported yesterday on the good work of the South West Dalek Crew, who are ‘trundling to Wales’ to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Well, it turns out that the lowest form of life is human life, not Dalek life, as a group of skateboarding youths stole the collecting bucket from one of the Daleks as the crew was passing through Bristol. These spineless yobs obviously couldn’t find any more children to steal candy from, so decided to make off with a charity collecting bucket – no doubt they’re currently bragging about their victory.
The South West Dalek Crew is on its fourth day of a trek to Cardiff, trying to raise money in three replica Daleks which are powered by electric wheelchair motors.
The Daleks of the South West Dalek Crew
Well, we’ve got two things to say.
First, if anyone has been bragging to you about stealing money from a Dalek, or you’ve overheard it, report it to the police or contact the Bristol Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraising office on 0117 924 7275.
Second, we can all help out by giving money to compensate for this loss. Donations can be made on line, on the Just Giving Web site. Even giving a small amount will help.
The three guys in the South West Dalek Crew are doing a terrific job, so let’s all support them.
This story is covered in more detail by the Swindon Advertiser.
We’ve just heard that Dalek Aurik, the High Dalek of Ska-Rak (er, otherwise known as Alan Mackenzie, author of Redemption of the Daleks) has asked for all Daleks to pledge their support to the South West Dalek Crew – we also note that he’s made a very generous donation to the cause, after seeing the story covered here – well done, that Dalek. Come on, everyone, support these great guys. Donate now! Every little helps.
