Retailers warn of festive Dalek toy shortages

(Well, they would, wouldn’t they?) Fear grows that there may not be enough of the Cult of Skaro left to go around.

With Christmas just around the corner, demand is growing for this year’s top toys – so much so that they are likely to in short supply.

One of this year’s top toys is expected to be the Dalek Sec human hybrid voice-changing mask.

The delay is apparently caused by more stringent safety checks in China before toys are exported to other countries – following  recalls of Matell toys over safety fears.

The most likely toys to run short are the Dalek helmet, Transformers toys based on the recent movie and Barbie products.

Or, if you’re a tad cynical, it’s just possible that retailers want to drum up more business after a fairly soft year’s trading.
