You can’t up make stories like this. Sixth form students have created a (pretty authentic looking, it has to be said) six-foot liquorice Dalek.

The Dalek is built on a wooden frame, and covered in black stuff donated by sweet manufacturers Haribo and Tangerine. It took 40 people three weeks to build it.
The Dalek now has pride of place at the Pontefract Museum, which is exactly how it should be.
