Full-size liquorice Dalek is a confectionary triumph

Fantastic. The Pontefract Museum has put on display a 6-foot liquorice Dalek, to celebrate the town’s liquorice festival.

You can’t up make stories like this. Sixth form students have created a (pretty authentic looking, it has to be said) six-foot liquorice Dalek.

Liquorice Dalek

The Dalek is built on a wooden frame, and covered in black stuff donated by sweet manufacturers Haribo and Tangerine. It took 40 people three weeks to build it.

The Dalek now has pride of place at the Pontefract Museum, which is exactly how it should be.
