Radio Times Dalek cover is voted the best magazine cover of all time

The ‘Vote Dalek’ Radio Times cover heartily trounced the competition in a UK readers’ poll.

We recently covered Magazine Week’s Great Cover Debate – for which the Dalek Radio Times cover was one of the nominations.

It’s more than a bit pleasing to know that the Dalek cover comfortably romped home as the winner, with over 25% of the vote. I’m not sure the others had much chance (“this isn’t war, this is pest control”).

Over 100,000 people took part in the poll, where people voted for one of 16 covers that had been culled down as a shortlist from more than 40.

Gill Hudson, editor of Radio Times, said: “It was a very complex cover to put together; simply getting Daleks on to Westminster Bridge at night, was very challenging. I’m delighted for the team, and very grateful to everyone who voted.”
