The BBC’s Chris Moyles has revealed the red Dalek, from the final episode of series 4, during filming.

The Dalek appeared in a piece about special effects, with the firm which is providing some special effects services. The Dalek is described as being in the last episode of the series.

Apart from being red, it seems to be a standard new series Dalek – except there are no dome lights. Of course, these could have fallen off or have been removed. The Dalek broken down, and the firm specialises in effects such as explosions, so it’s safe to assume that this Dalek doesn’t walk off into the Skaro sunset to let happily ever after. The prop looks as though it was built to be destroyed and not operated from within, so it’s clearly an ‘effects prop’.
