Dalek remains pulled from Hampshire pond

Wednesday, March 04, 2009

The remains of a Dalek used in the filming of Doctor Who have been dredged from a pond near Beaulieu in Hants.

Filming for Doctor Who took place in the area during the 1970s, when the Doctor was played by Jon Pertwee. Colin Baker, playing the fifth Doctor, also filmed in the area in the 1980s.

The top part of the Dalek is in poor condition, but still recognisable, with the eye stalk still intact, though one of the dome lights was broken.

The pond’s location is being kept a secret to stop Dalek fans from risking life and limb by searching for other parts.
